Hoops 4 Hope on Facebook:

When Max Rose For Congress was 16 years old he came to South Africa with Hoops 4 Hope, one of many experiences on his road that helped shape this great man into the leader he is today. Here is the letter he wrote to us:

Thank you for your tremendous generosity during my wonderful two weeks I spent in Cape Town with you nearly a decade ago. I need to fully convey just how much of an impact my experience there has had on me since.

I’m not sure if you have heard, but I joined the Army about a year ago and have since commissioned as an Infantry lieutenant. Although it often comes as a shock, my enlistment was impelled by a deep humanitarianism and belief that everyone deserves the security and resources necessary to pursue their own peaceful vision of the good life. So once again thank you from the bottom of my heart. If there is anyway I can contribute to Hoops 4 Hope’s cause in the future, I stand ready.

Please give my love to your family,

Max
