My name is Anelisa Khathazile. I am a 14 year old girl living in Philippi, Cape Town. I play basketball for CNP Thunder Club and I also play for both the provincial and national team. Last month, I went to the Children of the World’s Basketball Camp in Istanbul, Turkey.
I had such a great time at the camp. We were trained basketball skills, played three-on-three with the other children; we went site-seeing, watched movies and played team building games. We got to watch the Opening Ceremony of the World Basketball Games and it felt so good. We watched the games live and I made so many friends from different countries. We exchanged t-shirts, shorts etc.
The purpose of the camp was to unite children from all around the world who play basketball and to share their experiences. The camp helped a lot, because now I know there is a girl or boy that plays basketball from the other side of the world.
