I’m Martin from Zim- Harare. I stay in Dzivaresekwa, one of the suburbs were Hoops 4 Hope is active in. Ever since I became part of the big family, I’ve never looked back. I have always been passionate about working with kids and feel priveledged to be part of the team. I’ve worked in different areas of Harare; started in Dzivaresekwa (dz),moved to Mufakose, went Ombare and to Harare Children’s Home and went back to dz and now I work from the office. Currently I’m Assistant General Manager, Life Skills. I help with life skills, games, research, and delivery. I also help with life skills workshop facilitation for the Zim staff. I love my food, basketball, and going out!
Hoops 4 Hope
Since 1995, Hoops 4 Hope (H4H), a global not-for-profit organization, has been committed to supporting youth development and HIV/AIDS education throughout southern Africa by providing more than 10,000 school-age children with our Basketball / Skills 4 Life program.
“Ubuntu” expresses an ancient South African concept of unity, that every human is part of a greater whole, that I am who I am through you, and you are who you are through me. It captures in one word the combined love of all humanity.
We can’t change lives by ourselves. Every day, we have to stretch the buck further than one day before. We invite you to express ubuntu with us and the hundreds of lives we touch by getting involved with Hoops 4 Hope.
