Today’s event was organized by Brandon Pettaway, a Ross School Senior who started Kicks 4 Kids. As part of Brandon’s senior thesis, he successfully ran a 3 on 3 tournament with an amazing turnout from all over the Hampton’s hoop community. All of the event proceeds and sneaker donations went towards supporting the H4H programs. Brandon has definitely got UBUNTU! Do you?
Hoops 4 Hope
Since 1995, Hoops 4 Hope (H4H), a global not-for-profit organization, has been committed to supporting youth development and HIV/AIDS education throughout southern Africa by providing more than 10,000 school-age children with our Basketball / Skills 4 Life program.
“Ubuntu” expresses an ancient South African concept of unity, that every human is part of a greater whole, that I am who I am through you, and you are who you are through me. It captures in one word the combined love of all humanity.
We can’t change lives by ourselves. Every day, we have to stretch the buck further than one day before. We invite you to express ubuntu with us and the hundreds of lives we touch by getting involved with Hoops 4 Hope.
