Stephen Silverman will be remembered for his energy, generosity and the joy he had for life. An avid basketball player and a long time supporter of Hoops 4 Hope, Stephen has left his unique mark on the basketball world. His son Eric, currently a Peace Corps Member in Sierra Leone and committed to continuing his father’s legacy, is actively fundraising to give-back in his father’s name.
Last month, along with Silverman’s family, close friends, Hoops 4 Hope supporters, and his basketball community, we remembered Stephen with a very special evening at Brooklyn Roasting Company.
The event was a great success and raised over $8,000 for the construction of the Stephen Silverman Memorial Basketball court in Capetown, South Africa.
We would again like to thank Brooklyn Roasting Company, Brooklyn Brewery, Patisserie Colson, Tony DiDio Selections for their generous donations for the event. And the greatest of thanks to Hoops 4 Hope, Liz Gessner and the Silverman and Schpoont Family for their support and guidance.
