“Ubuntu” expresses an ancient South African concept of unity, that every human is part of a greater whole, that I am who I am through you, and you are who you are through me. It captures in one word the combined love of all humanity.

We can’t change lives by ourselves. Every day, we have to stretch the buck further than one day before. We invite you to express ubuntu with us and the hundreds of lives we touch by getting involved with Hoops 4 Hope.

Investments like yours provide the essential materials we need to develop our education-focused basketball programs, including:

  • Basketball equipment;
  • Basketball uniforms;
  • Educational materials; and
  • Living stipends for our community based All-Stars.

The children who grow through these programs in turn grow their communities, which helps develop southern Africa as a whole.

In 2010, H4H has 12,000 children from more than 150 schools and shelters enrolled in programs that are provided free of charge in disadvantaged communities in Zimbabwe and South Africa. H4H’s exciting teams, leagues, tournaments, camps and events keep the kids and coaches in the game. View our donation wishlist.

Fundraise for S4H

Start a H4H Fundraiser to Help More Children in South Africa

With H4H, you can make a difference in young people’s lives throughout southern Africa. A H4H fundraiser lets you be directly involved in helping give young people and teens in South Africa an opportunity to grow up to be stronger, healthier adults.

Many of our fundraisers are teenagers themselves, and understand how important it is to have peer support.
